What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization and handle media requests and interviews
- Develop and implement external and internal communication plans
- Write news releases, media alerts, articles, and website content
- Monitor media coverage, track results, and provide reports
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field
- Five years of experience in media relations and internal communications
- Proficiency with media placement and monitoring
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as an organizational spokesperson with knowledge of Denver-area media
- Experience with non-profit media relations
- Familiarity with animal welfare issues
