      We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to provide expert strategic support for agency-wide communications, leading the execution of multimedia strategies and cross-platform visual consistency. This role serves as a senior advisor for digital engagement and complex content development. This position is contingent upon contract award.

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Perform strategic planning and execution; provide expert advice to leadership on sensitive social media and communications issues.
      • Design and produce high-quality multimedia products (graphics, videos, data visualizations); maintain a visual information strategy plan.
      • Provide expert-level technical and scientific writing and editing; manage content through multiple review cycles to ensure accuracy and clarity.


      Requirements

      • Bachelor's degree in public affairs, education, environmental studies, marine affairs, marine biology or related.
      • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in high-level communications strategy and multimedia design within a NOAA mission-driven environment/contract.
      • Expertise in visual information strategy, social media innovation, and the ability to translate technical scientific data into accessible public products.
      • Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
      • Capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced "quick response" environment.
      • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support events and related logistics.
