      Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

      Job Role Summary

      The Community Talent Partner conducts outreach and builds applicant sources by researching and connecting with local, diverse community organizations, community service providers, employment agencies, and media outlets to grow brand recognition of Eskenazi Health and our career programs. This position will provide organizational information to drive and present candidates to our talent pipelines and talent teams and focus on candidate attraction campaigns.

      The Community Talent Partner, through events, collateral and communication will build partnerships with K-12 school systems, community colleges, federal and state agencies, industry and diverse associations and build Eskenazi Health’s early education career engagement programming, while serving as the first point of contact and liaison between the talent team, internal stakeholders and community outreach programs.

      Essential Functions and Responsibilities

      • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health’s mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County. Models Eskenazi Health values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence
      • Cultivate relationships and engagement activities through research and networking, that result in employment opportunities in high turnover and difficult to fill roles. Fill critical vacancies by identifying and attracting top talent by partnering with the community, chambers, and local organizations to build a fluid candidate pool for recruitment team
      • Design and oversee implementation of a community recruitment program that assures a diverse pipeline of future entry level, professional and clinical staff that is reflective of our employee and patient demographics and host informational employment sessions to support recruitment (including some evenings and weekends)
      • Build partnerships with K-12 school systems, community colleges, federal and state agencies, industry and diverse associations and build Eskenazi Health’s early education career engagement programming
      • Design and lead marketing efforts to educate and attract diverse talent by going out in the communities to promote careers at Eskenazi health. Partner with and engage workforce boards and community organizations, as well as internal Eskenazi Health stakeholders focused on community and social equity
      • Partner with alumni networks, soliciting and deepening partnerships, attend outreach events, developing a locally focused on the ground and digital strategy
      • Establish and provide weekly status updates, regular reporting and metrics regarding community activities, barriers, workforce trends, culture changes, and labor market

      Job Requirements

      Bachelor’s degree in human resources, social science, humanities, business or related degree plus at least two (2) years of professional work experience working in a social service organization, customer facing role, partnering with the local community including colleges, technical/vocational schools, government programs, diversity entities, etc.; OR Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare recruiting and partnering with the local community including colleges, technical/vocational schools, government programs, diversity entities, etc.

      • Previous Outreach / Recruitment experience is required
      • Working knowledge of healthcare services and understanding employment laws
      • Local travel – up to 25%; must have own transportation, a valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance.
      • Bilingual ability is preferred
      • Ability to develop solutions for a variety of recruiting needs and works on projects to support growth of the Community Outreach Recruitment program

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

      • High-level skills in verbal and written communication and interviewing techniques
      • Use of standard office equipment required; working knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheets highly desirable
      • Must be knowledgeable of health profession licensure and certification requirements, labor laws, corporate and departmental policies/procedures and personnel procedures
      • Ability to prioritize work and devise own work patterns/methods, be flexible to changing priorities, exercise good judgment, work effectively with students/health care professionals and wide variety of others
      • Participates in long range planning for recruitment purposes, work with minimal supervision, be detail-oriented; maintain confidentiality of information, display mature problem solving skills
      • Ability to use age-appropriate communication skills
      • Ability to evaluate and advise others based on socioeconomic backgrounds, social and academic challenges and needs
      • Ability to recognize needs of varying clients and respond appropriately during interactions
      • Ability to gain competency with HRIS (SAP), OnBase and other software such as performance management systems
      • Leadership skills
      • Expertise in internet recruitment, including sourcing products and applicant tracking systems
      • Expertise in sourcing for passive candidates using nontraditional tools
      • Experience in healthcare recruiting
      • History of collaboration in making hiring decisions
