      Job Description:

      A Brief Overview

      The position is responsible for conducting audits and assisting with regulatory requirements to improve the overall quality, compliance, completeness, and accuracy of medical record documentation for facility and professional encounters. The position will support compliance and revenue cycle functions by reviewing documentation practices, identifying areas for improvement, and providing education to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. This position is responsible for completing audit assignments and other related projects outlined in the compliance work plan. The role will educate providers, department leaders, and other workforce members on documentation standards and rules. The role will also prepare audit reports and collaborate with coding leadership and providers to reinforce best practices. Additional responsibilities include assisting with chart reviews, compliance investigations, and risk assessments. The role with partner with Revenue Cycle leadership to identify documentation opportunities, establish educational priorities, and maintain regulatory compliance. The position also monitors regulatory and compliance updates, using tools such as YouComli, and communicates changes to the appropriate parities to ensure timely awareness and action.

      What you will do

      • Conducts compliance audits and reviews to assess the accuracy, completeness, and quality of medical record documentation.
      • Collaborates with Compliance and Revenue Cycle leadership to identify documentation opportunities, support educational initiatives, and maintain regulatory compliance
      • Collaborates with providers and staff to improve documentation processes that support accurate billing and compliance with GRH requirements and applicable regulations.
      • Monitors regulatory updates and communicates changes to appropriate parties to ensure timely awareness and action.
      • Assists with compliance investigations and chart reviews as assigned

      Qualifications:

      Qualifications

      • Graduate of Health Information Technology program or related field of study preferred Preferred
      • 1-3 years Coding knowledge/experience Preferred
      • 1-3 years Experience in medical auditing, compliance, or healthcare documentation Required
      • 1-3 years Experience working in an office setting, preferably in a healthcare setting Required
      • Strong computer experience/knowledge
      • Good working knowledge of medical terminology
      • Customer service experience
      • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with providers, leadership, and staff
      • Ability to facilitate process improvement with multiple department and/or clinics
      • Strong auditing and analytical skills to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement
      • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple audits, projects, and regulatory updates simultaneously
      • Effective presentation and training skills to provide education to providers and staff
      • Ability to collaborate with providers, coders, compliance staff, and leadership to improve documentation quality and compliance
      • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) within 180 Days Preferred
      • Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) within 1-1/2 Yrs Preferred
