- Partner with stakeholders to maintain list of upcoming deals, deadlines, and operational significance. Track and manage progress while looking for opportunities to improve the process and find synergies across industries.
- Responsible for collaborating with proper stakeholders to present new innovative or efficiency-based solutions to address any opportunity areas identified.
- Review contract requests. Work with the stakeholders to obtain any missing documents, and background/context for the request. Determine if the request should be routed to CEI Legal, Supply Chain or through the contractor process.
- Depending on determination of request type, initiate project through Supply Chain portal, Magnit workforce management platform, or begin initial steps for CEI Legal.
- Set up kickoff call if needed.
- Decide on whether there is Cox template suitable for the contract request. If so, work with stakeholders to populate and draft business terms. Apply advanced skills in contract terms and conditions, risk mitigation and negotiating points.
- If reviewing an opposing party form, complete initial review and identify areas of deviation from Cox standards. Update draft to reflect more standard terms based on your expert knowledge of Cox risk tolerance and business requirements. - Resolve unique problems associated with contract terms not agreed and stalled negotiation activities by applying critical and strategic thinking plus experience of what has worked well in the past.
- Coordinate calls, track and provide status updates, follow up with contracting party as appropriate to continue deal momentum.
- Facilitate collaboration and feedback from stakeholders and incorporate feedback into contract while deciding what if anything should be adjusted to align with key business objectives.
- Negotiate routine contracts under the direction of an attorney while taking the lead on drafting and negotiating terms.
- Prepare execution version including document proofing for section cross references, defined terms, and exhibit references.
- Facilitate approvals and coordination of signatures.
- Store contract in appropriate location; maintain organization of contract repository.
- Monitor contract renewals and coordinate renewals with contract owners.
- Assess contract requests for suitability to supply chain categories or Magnit workforce management process for contractors and decide on which path to take.
- Initiate Supply Chain center of excellence process and advise requestor on next steps.
- Track progress in Supply Chain portal or Magnit.
- Follow-up with parties to remove barriers and maintain forward progress. Decide on whether escalation is needed and take appropriate steps.
- Serve as liaison between requestor and Supply Chain.
- Act as subject matter expert on intake process, Supply Chain process and Magnit process.
- Store executed contract in appropriate contract database.
- Create reports, charts, presentations, and timelines related to contract status and volume.
- Partner with Legal and Growth Operations to develop and implement contract process and best practices based on your observations of what would be best for the organization; update as needed.
- Partner with Legal and Supply Chain on creating and delivering training on contract intake and review process, and best practices. Determine target audiences and decide on appropriate content for each.
- Provide measurable input to policy development, such as provisions that require business approvals, guidelines for legal engagement. Improve processes to help ensure favorable outcomes for the business while effectively managing risk for Cox.
- Establish project governance structure. Project set-up in Devensoft project management tool.
- Lead project kick-off activities.
- Manage status reporting and issue/risk management. Decide on escalation and resolution steps based on significance of risk and cross-organizational impact.
- Follow up on delayed tasks.
- Prepare executive status reports.
- Lead playbook revisions and process updates.
- Ability to translate stakeholder and legal requirements into contract language. Mastery of English language and grammar skills.
- Familiarity with common contract terms and conditions for business and technology products and services, and professional services.
- Understands typical contract language to mitigate risk and ensure service or product is delivered as expected.
- Ability to work independently and apply good judgment in making decisions appropriate for their level.
- Able to leverage broad business understanding to investigate and resolve problems with significant cross-organizational impact.
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization with various levels of stakeholders.
- Discipline to create, maintain, improve and follow standard processes for contract management.
- Ability to keep the broader organizational and key business objectives top-of-mind while managing the day-to-day.
- Experience maintaining and updating contract templates.
- Experience drafting and editing contracts consistent with terms acceptable by the company.
- Consistency in producing high quality deliverables.

- Experience using Devensoft M&A project management tool a plus.

- Experience using Onit matter management ticketing system a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience and 3 years in a management/leadership role or comparable leadership exp OR (MS with 6+ years of experience OR 12+ yeas with no degree).
- Extensive experience working in a legal firm or department focused primarily on contracts.
- Paralegal certificate a plus.
- Has worked with attorneys and supply chain professionals to draft and edit contracts.
- Has created and improved upon processes for intake of requests, development, tracking and finalization of contracts.
- Experience managing projects; experience in M&A integration projects is a plus.
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations while delivering stakeholder satisfaction.

Cox Enterprises (CEI) is hiring a Contract Management Senior Manager to join our team! The person in this role manages all contract projects for the Growth Operations team and CEI portfolio companies. They act as point of contact for all contract requests and manage the process. They take the lead on drafting and refinement of contracts in support of the Legal department, and coordinate with our centralized Supply Chain center of excellence to manage contract request intake and tracking of active third-party spend projects. The Contract Management Senior Manager handles simple to highly complex contract engagements and is the subject matter expert and advisor on the steps for contract negotiation and management. They perform high level critical thinking, detailed information gathering and application of business knowledge throughout. The Contract Management Senior Manager identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce risk in contracting to benefit the broader organization.
