      SCOPE: A contracts manager oversees a team of advisors and associates that centrally coordinate the execution of contracts for the procurement of goods and services. They interface with contract managers of other assigned client groups and act as business partners as liaison between Supply Chain, Tax, Insurance, Cybersecurity, Contract Compliance (audit), and Law.

      ** This position is open to all MPC locations **

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Accountable for a team of Contracting Subject Matter Experts managing end-to-end contract lifecycle for MPC Commercial contracts. Multi-organizational business partners span MPC landscape including Refining, Gathering & Processing, and all corporate business units.
      • Provides leadership in driving Supply Chain initiatives including Safety, Customer Service, Operational Excellence, Employee Development and Value Creation.
      • Possesses strong understanding of Supply Chain procedures and policies, MPC Law’s requirements for contract Terms & Conditions, negotiation strategies, total cost of ownership, resources for safety and risk mitigation, and day-to-day operation of procurement systems.
      • Maintains a strong working relationship between business partner management and Supply Chain management to ensure short- and long-term goals, strategies and initiatives are aligned, communicated and implemented.
      • Collaborates with Law to continuously mitigate company risk and improve contracting processes by evaluating and implementing changes to Central Contract Lead responsibilities to allow Law to focus on highest risk contracts.
      • Establishes organizational goals and metrics and leads direct reports in delivery. Works to ensure direct reports maintain expertise in all areas.
      • Manages workforce issues including performance management and compensation process minimizing the overall cycle time from initial request through contract execution.

      Education and Experience:

      • 8+ years of experience procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, contract management or related field with knowledge of contracting processes and basic concepts of negotiations is required. Supervisory experience preferred.
      • Bachelor's degree is required in Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, IT, Engineering or other business related fields. CPSM is a plus
      • Knowledge of Contracting processes, Ariba and SAP
      • Excellent communication skills and a strong collaborator
      • Juris Doctorate or Paralegal experience strongly considered
      • Travel Expected: Up to 10%
