What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate the administration and development of county contracts from request through execution
- Assist departments in preparing effective contract documents, including amendments
- Manage the submission process of contracts for legal review by the County's Attorney Office
- Develop and maintain updated contract templates and training for staff on the contract management system
- Provide backup support to the Contracts Manager and other department staff as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field and one year of experience with contracts or legal documents; OR
- An Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field and three years of experience with contracts or legal documents; OR
- A High School Diploma and five years of experience working with contracts or legal documents
- Knowledge of purchasing and contract law as applied in local government in North Carolina
- Ability to draft complex legal documents and correspondence
