What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Draft and negotiate sponsored research, clinical trial, and intellectual property-related agreements
- Analyze contract terms and provide risk assessments to protect the university's interests
- Assist with proposal submissions that lead to contract-based awards
- Monitor agreement terms and maintain compliance with legal and IRB/IACUC standards
- Maintain regular communication with faculty and outside entities regarding contract issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant contract negotiation experience in a medical research environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating strong organizational abilities
- Extensive knowledge of contract methods and procedures
- Ability to manage a complex workload in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree or JD in a related field
- Knowledge of university financial and administrative policies regarding contract management
- Experience and/or training in negotiation skills and techniques
- Background in science is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database administration
