      HOURS OF WORK: 35 hour workweek / shift work / variable hours

      LOCATION: Hybrid Model*– when working onsite, you will report to the location of City Hall

      SALARY GRADE: 4

      HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,358.00 - $84,778.00 per annum

      MAXIMUM OF SALARY RANGE: $94,198.00 per annum

      AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

      Responsible for managing and coordinating activities for the newly formed Brampton Angel Group. The Brampton Angel Group Coordinator will lead planning, organizing, and directing Brampton Angels operations and programs to drive revenue and stakeholder satisfaction, to continually grow the organization. Working with a cross functional team and with the Board of Directors, the Coordinator develops and implements consistent programs, events, policies, and procedures.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT

      • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential Angel Investors, understanding their investment preferences, providing updates on startup pitches, and ensuring continued engagement and satisfaction with the group's activities.
      • Develop and implement consistent programming and events tailored for Angel Investors.
      • Execute strategic initiatives to enhance the group's operational efficiency.
      • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline operations.
      • Engage with relevant entities to ensure events are well-represented in the ecosystem.
      • Build relationships with Startups and Ecosystem to grow base of engaged Startups.
      • Assist with due diligence and background support for interested Startups.
      • Coordinate supplementary investment support for engaged Startups.
      • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue opportunities.
      • Manage and oversee the membership database and contacts.
      • Organize and curate Brampton Angel Group pitch competitions and meetings.
      • Act as the primary spokesperson for the Brampton Angel Group in external engagements.

      STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIPS

      • Actively recruit and onboard new Angel Investors to the group.
      • Analyse membership trends and adjust strategies to maximize growth and satisfaction.
      • Implement feedback mechanisms to gauge and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.
      • Establish connections with startups that align with the Brampton Angel Group's interests including organizing pitch sessions, coordinating supplementary investment support, and providing them with feedback from the Angel Investors.
      • Develop and nurture partnerships with external organizations, investors, venture capitalists, government funding bodies, local governments, business community groups, Incubators, Accelerators, Regional Innovation Centres (RICs), and other stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem. This involves attending ecosystem events, panels, and discussions while representing the Brampton Angel Group.

      CORPORATE CONTRIBUTION

      • Ensure compliance and alignment of policies with the group's vision and goals.
      • Regularly collaborates and communicates with the Board to ensure alignment on strategic goals, events, policies, and procedures.
      • Represent Brampton Angels at ecosystem events, speak on panels, judge pitch competitions, and participate in local and national conferences, as approved by the Board.

      TEAMWORK AND COOPERATION

      • Collaborate with the diverse internal team to ensure consistent stakeholder messaging and engagement and smooth execution of initiatives.
      • Collaborate with the Economic Development team as well as the Brampton Innovation District partners to find synergies and alignment on goals for the group.

      COMMUNICATION & REPORTING

      • Working with Strategic Communications, to inform and support the development of communication and marketing plans to raise the Brampton Angels profile within the Brampton Innovation District Ecosystem.
      • Liaise with board to establish and maintain membership goals.
      • Advise on member satisfaction, retention strategy and implementation.
      • Plan and host monthly Investment meetings and periodic educational programs/special events.

      SELECTION CRITERIA:

      EDUCATION:

      • University degree in Economic Development, Business or Commerce

      REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

      • 3-5 years’ experience in Startup Activity, Technology Ecosystems, Investment, Business Development, Economic Development, or similar role
      • 3-5 years’ experience in working with start-up, and/or investors.
      • Proven project management experience and application of methodology.

      OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:

      • Exceptional customer service skills, and confident in networking with diverse groups building strong relationships.
      • Strong business foundation with an understanding of marketing and production process.
      • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management software (CRM).
      • Excellent report writing and demonstrated track record in presenting to small and large groups.
      • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving.
      • Background in technology and innovation is an asset.
      • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.
      • The ability to travel frequently to various worksites and off-site client meetings.
      • Occasional, domestic / international travel may be required.
