- Report to the Associate Vice President and support all operations of the patenting and licensing processes; requires knowledge of patent and licensing contractual language
- Work with faculty and departments to organize invention disclosures and compliance on federal grants
- Support new and existing programs and initiatives to advance commercialization of Baylor technology such as NSF i-Corp, PFI grants, SBIR/STTR applications, option agreements and license agreements
- Support the Office of Innovation and Economic Development’s day to day operations
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Coordinator, Innovation and Economic Development to support the Patent and Licensing Associate in managing the university’s intellectual property portfolio and bringing research into the commercial sector. This position will help to evaluate the patentability and commercial potential of technology developed by the university, as well as assisting in drafting and negotiating patent related agreements in support of Baylor University’s technologies. This position will also provide service to Baylor University faculty as well as evaluate, market, strategize, value and commercialize technologies developed at the university.
A Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. A Bachelor's degree and three years of experience is preferred.
