      Job Description:

      Summary:

      The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the primary source verification of radiologists' credentials, meeting departmental goals, maintaining files and presenting files to the Credentialing Committee and Board.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Primary Source Verification (PSV) and quality assurance on all documentation of a physician's credentials, which confirms that all training, experience and other qualifications are valid, unchallenged, suitable and in compliance with vRad Bylaws and Joint Commission standards; includes querying the AMA, NPDB, FMSB, Certifacts and background checks, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and Bylaws
      • Extensive and professional communication with radiologists regarding on-boarding and reappointment processes, continuing medical education, health and physical compliance and additional items as warranted
      • Prepare and present radiologists' files to Credentialing Committee and Board in compliance with physician services processes
      • Frequent follow up, communication and relationship building with outside entities and contacts
      • Set and meet target date goals, provide timely and accurate database notes, consistent follow up on deficiencies and ensure their completion
      • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current vRad Bylaws and Joint Commission Standards and upcoming revisions
      • Other duties as assigned


      Qualifications/Education:
      • Minimum 2 years administrative experience
      • Detail-oriented and extremely organized, with excellent multi-tasking skills
      • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
      • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
      • Goal-oriented
      • Good negotiation and people skills
      • Ability to make independent decisions
      • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards a plus
      • Proven ability to adapt to change
