What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide crisis intervention by responding to incoming calls to the 988 Lifeline, offering immediate support to individuals in emotional distress
- Conduct assessments of individual safety and risk levels while utilizing established protocols
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to help individuals regain control during crises
- Develop safety plans in collaboration with individuals, identifying coping strategies and resources
- Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions while adhering to privacy regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of one (1) year of crisis or call center experience
- Intermediate level computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to type at least 50 words per minute
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with exceptional business English
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in crisis intervention or suicide prevention
- Thorough understanding of behavioral and mental health, crisis intervention, or suicide prevention
- Experience in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Knowledge of community resources and mental health services
- Ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues during text/chat sessions
