What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to patient and guarantor inquiries regarding billing, payments, and insurance issues
- Provide timely and accurate account analysis and resolution during initial contact
- Verify and update patient demographic and fiscal information in billing systems
- Document all interactions and account actions to maintain a clear audit trail
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve complex billing issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in customer service or collections in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of Epic billing systems preferred
- Ability to handle multiple inquiries and maintain high service standards
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree preferred
- Experience in medical terminology and understanding of liability claims
- Familiarity with billing and collections policies in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues independently
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient satisfaction
