What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Attend and complete the part-time Data Science Bootcamp
- Work as an apprentice for a host company, applying data and machine learning concepts
- Focus on systems that incorporate data, machine learning, and AI-driven workflows
- Build and manipulate large data sets to solve real-world problems
- Collaborate with experienced data scientists and engineers throughout the program
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be currently living in the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
- Must be available to commit 40 hours/week for 14 months for both bootcamp and apprenticeship work
- Basic proficiency in Python or a similar coding language
- Degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, or Economics, or completion of a data analytics or data science bootcamp
- Successful completion of the Flatiron School Aptitude Assessment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Working knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and the ability to query or integrate them
- Curiosity about AI processes and systems, such as NLP and LLMs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet small milestones
- Initiative and a strong desire to grow into a multidisciplinary data scientist
