As a member of the Data Office Data Curation Team, you will handle the interpretation and representation of complex biological and medical data, producing controlled vocabularies and following a structured data model. This role is critical for the delivery of AstraZeneca’s corporate strategy, where Data, AI and Digital are foundational value drivers for Innovative Science and potential corporate differentiators.

      Accountabilities:

      In this role, as a member of the Study Patient Data Product and Platform team you will handle the interpretation and representation study information, by curating exisitng information or interpretation ethical (consent) or legal information to create insight into the multiple data types used during the development of clinical products. You most likely have a background is study management with a good understand of the clinical studies and how data from a clinical study can be used.

      Essential Skills/Experience:

      • Relevant degree in Life Sciences, Information/Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, IT, or other related discipline
      • 2-3 years of experience in data curation and clinical data management, ideally in the healthcare space
      • Operational understanding of common data models, data standards, vocabularies, ontologies etc. and their implementation within a centralized repository
      • Experience working with IT partners in the implementation of data standardization & curation projects
      • Ability to learn new tools and technologies
      • Experience in creating system and user documentation artifacts related to data standards implementation & curation
      • Travel – willingness and ability to travel domestically & internationally.
      • Resilience – ability to overcome and motivate others in the face of a changing environment

      Desirable Skills/Experience:

      • Ability to work with high-throughput data ingestion pipelines through command line approaches, with knowledge of Python, R or equivalent coding language
      • Experience with clinical data curation and familiarity with industry standards
