      Overview

      Assists and supports the daily operations of the Des Moines Area Medical Education Consortium/Des Moines Branch Campus as well as assists the Executive Director, Administrative Director, and Coordinator as needed. Carries out administrative tasks and serves as a resource for medical students. Represents the branch campus in a positive manner and promotes all aspects of student medical education.

      Responsibilities

      Responsible for supporting the Des Moines Area Medical Education Consortium, Inc. operations. This includes:

      • Assisting the Executive Director, Administrative Director and Coordinator in day-to-day operations which may include meeting organization, maintaining calendars, preparing correspondence, processing invoices, handling maintenance requests, check requests, and printing requests.
      • Prioritizing meetings and schedules with appropriate Consortium staff, medical students, Medical Education staff, Clerkship Directors and Program Directors, and faculty physicians.
      • Coordinating appropriate correspondence and conference calls, along with prioritizing assignments and anticipating needs of the office.
      • Maintaining proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software programs as requested
      • Serving as primary receptionist for office visitors, guests, etc.Upholding the Consortium’s mission, vision, and values.
      • Maintaining and organizing office files, including shared drive.

      Qualifications

      Experience:

      · Customer/client service support experience.

      · Student or Learner support experience.

      · Minimum of up to two years’ experience in health or education.

      License(s)/Certification(s):

      · Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

      Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

      · Basic computer skills that includes knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and the Internet.

      · Proficient organizational skills.

      · Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

      · Competent customer support/service skills.

      · Adept at learning new systems and processes.

      · Strong professionalism skills.

      · Effective project management and coordination skills.

      · Is approachable and displays a positive attitude.

      Other:

      · Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

      · Performs functions other than described due to unforeseen circumstances.
