What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide professional support to the Certificate of Need (CON) Commission, assisting in the development of health policy
- Conduct extensive research and analysis related to health facility standards and CON covered clinical services
- Coordinate and document Commission meetings, ensuring regulatory compliance and compiling necessary materials
- Review proposed policy changes and interpret statutes or legislative proposals impacting the program area
- Maintain and develop the CON website in accordance with e-Michigan site guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
- Minimum of one year of professional experience for Departmental Analyst 10 level, or two years for Departmental Analyst P11 level
- Ability to work hybrid within Michigan, with a secure and private workspace for remote duties
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling and coordinating meetings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in human services areas such as social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field
- Experience in reviewing, interpreting, and applying Michigan laws
- Familiarity with coordinating large meetings or events with diverse groups
- Background in health policy or regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to conduct research and compile data for policy development
