What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the policy specialist for statewide publicly-funded clinic programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
- Conduct independent research, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of policy changes related to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and Rural Health Clinics (RHC)
- Communicate complex issues regarding coverage and reimbursement verbally and in writing to stakeholders
- Monitor policy activities and quality assurance to maintain program integrity
- Collaborate with other areas of the department for functions related to public clinic types
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
- Minimum of four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level
- Experience serving as a professional expert to clarify program policies or procedures
- Familiarity with federally qualified and rural health centers
- Proven track record in researching and drafting healthcare policy or regulations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience interpreting federal, state, or local government policies within a healthcare setting
- Background in analyzing and applying healthcare legislation or administrative rules
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate large projects among multiple parties
- Knowledge of the importance and challenges faced by FQHCs and RHCs within the Medicaid program
