What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a policy specialist for statewide Medicaid programs and related services
- Conduct independent research and develop policies for program compliance and reimbursement
- Respond to complex issues regarding coverage, funding changes, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor policy activities and ensure quality assurance across programs
- Act as an expert resource for providers and beneficiaries regarding therapy and laboratory services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
- Minimum of four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level
- Experience in explaining and clarifying program policies or procedures
- Background in hearing, laboratory, behavioral health, or therapy services and familiarity with Medicaid services
- Proven ability to research and draft healthcare policy and proposals
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience interpreting federal, state, or local government policies within a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with healthcare legislation, administrative rules, or state and federal regulations
- Experience planning and implementing large projects among multiple stakeholders
- Ability to navigate cultural differences in a professional setting
- Previous involvement with Medicaid-covered services or similar programs
