What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage research reporters as they work on investigative stories, providing direct supervision
- Serve as an escalation point for research reporters, helping to resolve complex reporting challenges
- Manage and prioritize incoming research requests while balancing urgent newsroom needs
- Provide hands-on editorial guidance to research reporters on various research strategies and techniques
- Collaborate with reporters and editors to define research goals and frame investigations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- At least three years of experience managing a research team, preferably in a journalism setting
- Significant in-depth research experience, ideally within investigative journalism
- In-depth knowledge of financial, corporate, government, legal, or OSINT resources
- Expert ability to guide staff in evaluating and vetting information from diverse sources
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
