      Position Summary:

      The Manhattan and Sephardic Divisions, 50/50 split between departments seek a proactive, motivated, and flexible person to provide essential day-to-day administrative support to three professional staff overseeing the UJA FSU, Healthcare, and Sephardic portfolios. A bit about the portfolios:

      • UJA FSU is a welcoming space for Jews with roots in the former Soviet Union who want to come together as a community of philanthropists to strengthen their community and beyond.
      • UJA Healthcare consists of doctors and professionals in medical, biotech, and other health-related fields who want to make a difference in their community, connect with colleagues, and interact with leading voices in the industry.
      • The Sephardic Division is a distinct, unique, and vibrant multigenerational philanthropic community. It engages members in exclusive social, learning, and philanthropic opportunities through UJA, fostering a strong sense of identity and connection while supporting meaningful causes across generations

      Major Responsibilities:

      • Provide necessary administrative support to three fundraising professionals on the Manhattan and Sephardic teams
      • Assist with committee meetings, events and projects. Including preparing materials, scheduling, calendaring, invites, evites, mailers, attendance, money processing, reports and all logistics.
      • Provide necessary professional support to the Sephardic portfolio including money processing and developing a journal as well as key support for the Annual Sephardic Event.
      • Provide necessary professional support to the Healthcare and UJA FSU portfolios including money processing and developing a journal as well as key support for the Annual Events.
      • Handling logistics for Sephardic synagogue appeals and committee meetings.
      • Conduct donor and prospect research
      • Become knowledgeable and proficient in use of UJA systems including our fundraising, grant making, and purchasing systems.
      • Draft and send acknowledgement letters and assemble internal and external mailings.
      • Manage and update committee lists in our fundraising database.
      • Staff FRD events outside of the Manhattan and Sephardic Divisions as needed.
      • Sit on a team with other Affinity admin professionals to share ideas and information.

      Skills/Competencies:

      • Bachelor’s degree.
      • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication.
      • Strong relationship-building skills.
      • Excellent customer-service orientation.
      • Team player with the ability to multitask.
      • Creative, energetic, self-motivated, quick learner
      • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
      • Should be comfortable and adept at communicating and presenting in person and via remote platforms.
      • Knowledge of issues facing the Jewish community and passion for UJA-Federation’s mission.
      • Flexibility to work at events and programs when required, which may be outside of normal business hours.
      • A plus: has a strong understanding and knowledgeable about of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Sephardic community

      Salary Information:

      The annual salary for this role is $50,000.
