Position Summary:
JCCA is seeking a Development Associate to join a team that drives meaning impact through fundraising efforts. Reporting directly to the Director of Philanthropy and Individual Giving, the Development Associate collaborates with the entire Development team and should have extensive knowledge and experience in fundraising strategy and practice. The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgment in various situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and exceptional organizational skills. Along with the ability to maintain a balance among multiple competing priorities, the Development Associate must be able to handle a wide variety of activities and carry out the role under pressure and with discretion. The Development Associate will maintain a portfolio of individual donors and have a hand in a variety of donor-related projects.
Responsibilities:
• Serves as the Administrative Lead for individual giving on the development team, manages the high-level organizational details; updates the prospect pipeline, research, and progress.
• Supports the work of the Director of Philanthropy and Individual Giving and the Chief Development and Communications Officers, and collaborates on high-level major donor strategy, tracking, reporting, and planning for new or increased gifts.
• Spearheads projects related to identifying new donors, re-establishing relationships with lapsed donors , and cultivating a robust cadre of prospective donors for our pipeline, including lapsed donor letters, new donor mailings, and other similar efforts.
•Develops a personal portfolio of $5,000 and below donors, with an eye towards moving them through the moves management process.
•Oversees and research high net worth prospects and family foundations with an eye towards leveraging relationships with current donors.
•Prepares acknowledgement letters and works on correspondence for donors and partners to ensure thorough, timely and personalized donor recognition and appreciation.
•Helps draft and prepare materials, agendas, talking points, and minutes for donor meetings, Board and Development committee meetings, and funder correspondence.
•Assists as necessary with events: including oversees list management, tracks VIP engagement, updates various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required.
•Minimum 3 years' nonprofit development experience, as a Development Associate or Coordinator, with individual giving experience preferred.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), some knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

• Strong organizational and project management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
•Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, donors, Board members, and external partners.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Demonstrated proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
•Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
Salary: $66,500
