Job Description
- Req#: 478782
- Enter data into Donor Management Software, provide regular reports, process monthly subscription fees and align donor records with Salesforce.
- Respond to donor inquiries via email and phone in a timely manner.
- Manage communications with individual donors, send acknowledgements and facilitate memorial donations
- Work with finance to reconcile donations on a monthly basis and provide data on matching donations
- Oversee logistics for planned giving and NORD’s Rare Giving Society for top donors.
- In partnership with the department, identify opportunities for growth in individual giving by conducting comparative analysis with other health-focused nonprofits.
- Create and implement the project plan, coordinating logistics, planning meetings and ensuring timelines are met
- Collaborate with marketing on campaign development and promotion
- Support sponsorship request submissions, contracting, and ongoing calendar of logistics fulfillment
- Provide day-of support for registrations & booth logistics
- Support post event outreach to provide supporters with recap reports and reconciliations

Position Summary
The Development Associate will work in close collaboration with the Vice President of Development, Associate Director of Business Development, and departmental colleagues to manage and help grow NORD’s individual giving and year end campaigns and provide sponsorship support for NORD events and donor management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage NORD’s individual giving program:
Develop and implement NORD’s End of Year Campaign:
Provide support for corporate memberships and sponsorships for NORD’s signature events: Corporate Council Rare Disease Day, Rare Impact Awards, Patient & Family Forum, and NORD Summit:
Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
Education/Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required
Minimum of 2 years of development experience, preferably in a non-profit environment
Experience with individual giving preferred
Experience in a mission-driven environment and/or healthcare-related field preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High energy and a passion for NORD's mission is essential
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships
Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
A professional and resourceful style; the ability to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside NORD
Excellent technological abilities including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams and Salesforce
Ability to communicate with a variety of clientele and audiences such as patients, families, executive directors, government officials, researchers and medical professionals.
Working Conditions
This position is fully remote with occasional opportunities for travel to NORD events.
