      Position Summary:

      Under the direction of the Senior VP of Development, the Development Events Manager assists in the planning, coordination, and implementation of a variety of Development events. This position is responsible for the overall planning, management, and evaluation of MPM’s primary fundraising events to meet and grow budget expectations. This position also supervises and works closely with the Development Special Events Coordinator.

      In this role, you will:

      • Assume responsibility for creative, efficient, and effective event organization including event logistics, attendance, timelines, program development, auction, and auction items fulfillment, volunteer participation, and staff communications.

      • Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteer leadership and committee members, working to build a pipeline of volunteer support for future events.

      • Supervise and evaluate the annual performance of the Development Special Events Coordinator, ensuring growth of their skills by providing developmental and leadership opportunities.

      • Manage and track annual budget and attendance goals for all events

      You will be successful in this role if you:

      • Are extremely detail oriented and good at project management

      • Are ambitious and able to manage a fast-paced, deadline driven workload

      • Strategically multi-task and prioritize time management when decision making

      • Can work independently as well as collaborate across departments to ensure well-coordinated events

      • Are comfortable working with board members and high-level volunteers

      • Possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills

      • Feel comfortable establishing relationships and asking for direct solicitations

      Qualities that are preferred but not required:

      • Experience asking for solicitations and sponsorships

      • Experience managing a budget and achieving revenue goals

      • Familiarity with Development databases

      • Background in business, non-profit management, marketing, and/or event planning
