What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Document and describe library collections for online access and discovery through various platforms
- Research, create, and edit entries in Wikidata and bibliographic records
- Collaborate with faculty and staff in the Data Services unit and across subject specialists
- Apply detailed and complex policies and procedures with great attention to detail
- Work independently while planning and scheduling tasks to achieve required results
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated experience in cataloging or descriptive metadata, including bibliographic description and controlled vocabularies
- Knowledge of authority control and its application in library or archival collections
- Experience interpreting and applying complex policies and procedures
- Effective communication and interaction skills with a variety of people
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with linked data and its application to library and archival materials
- Knowledge of creating Wikidata entities
