- Act as a key financial advisor to business leaders, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive informed decision-making; Present financial updates to leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret financial data related to SaaS metrics, such as Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Annual Contract Value (ACV), Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), and churn rates.
- Establish, monitor, and analyze SaaS-specific KPIs, such as Monthly Churn Rate, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and Customer Expansion Rate.
- Provide actionable insights into trends, opportunities, and challenges that impact SaaS revenue streams and profitability.
- Oversee the development of accurate forecasts, budgets, and long-range projections that reflect the unique subscription-based revenue streams of a SaaS company.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to incorporate growth projections, customer acquisition costs, and retention strategies into financial plans.
- Partner with SaaS product managers and leverage knowledge of SaaS framework to perform complex modelling and assess the financial viability of new features, products, and pricing model.
- Provide financial guidance for strategic initiatives, expansions, and partnerships within the SaaS ecosystem.
- Effectively communicate and present financial scenarios and impacts to senior / executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Develop and manage financial models to simulate various growth scenarios, pricing strategies, and customer acquisition scenarios for the SaaS business.
- Assess financial risks inherent to the SaaS industry, such as contract cancellations and technology shifts, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a similar financial role supporting the SaaS industry, including significant experience with SaaS metrics (such as MRR, ARR, Churn Rate, and CAC/LTV ratio) and subscription-based revenue models required.
- Strategic thinker comfortable working with abstract scenarios to identify and evaluate opportunities and outcomes
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret financial data, generate insights, and make strategic recommendations.
- Expertise in SaaS modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools; advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Ability to synthesize large data sets and critical metrics and summarize for executive level review
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing decision-making.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and ethical financial practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director Finance Business Partner with extensive FP&A experience in the software/ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry. As Director Finance Business Partner, you will play a critical role in aligning financial strategies with the unique dynamics of a SaaS business model. This role requires a consistent application of critical thinking skills, an excellent understanding of financial statements, sound financial logic, complex problem solving, and the ability to drive results through independent work. The successful candidate will have the ability to think both strategically and tactically. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance that contribute to informed strategic decision-making and profitability within the organization.

The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $110,000 and $200,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
