Location – Hybrid
This is a hybrid role, which means that you will have the flexibility to work both onsite and at a distance. You will collaborate onsite at our La Farge, WI office for 4-8 days per month, and the rest of the time you can choose to work remotely or onsite.

Summary of Role
The Director of Farm Resources is responsible for creating strategic alignment between our cooperative and the current and future needs of our membership (all producer pools) through development and evolution of farm resource programs, services, and member educational content in a manner that supports our member-owner needs now and for generations to come.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Oversee and participate in the evaluation of member-owner needs and develop and evolve programs and services to meet those needs now and in the future.
o Interface with internal leaders, industry, and member-owners to develop strong working relationships to facilitate trustworthy, effective collaboration to achieve goals of advancing of organic agriculture.
o Collaborate with pool department leadership and field staff on strategic planning, topic generation and member support.
o Lead the deployment of professional services to members and the business in the areas of veterinary, nutrition, grazing, animal care, agronomy, and on-farm certification.
o Oversight of animal care program and standards.
o Lead the development and implementation of mechanisms to support members-owners ability to maximize grazing.
o Develop a cost of production model that supports farmer-leadership decision making.
o Translate farm profitability insights into management assistance.
o Collaborate on development of the Cooperative’s research agenda.
o Maintain communication/relationship with universities and research institutions.
o Collaborate with cooperative stakeholders on the development and delivery of member facing content.
o Maintain and report key performance indicators on achievement of strategic plan and other metrics as needed.
o Development and oversight of department budget to meet budget expectations through effective utilization of resources.
o Communicate performance expectations and evaluate outcomes, providing timely feedback, and recommending personnel actions for assigned staff.
o Ensure compliance with policies, safety procedures, and fair employment practices.Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Handle confidential information with discretion.
o Attend farmer meetings, tradeshows and educational meetings as requested.
o Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field required.
o 10+ years of experience working with farmers required.
o Demonstrated record of progressively successful supervisory and management skills required.
o Knowledge of organic farming methods required.
o Knowledge and experience with cost of production preferred.
o Knowledge of organic certification strongly preferred.
o Understanding of CROPP Cooperative foundation principles and mission.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to communicate complex information and recommendations in a concise and professional manner.
o Proven ability to manage budgets, including G&A and COGs.
o Critical thinking and decision-making skills required; ability to make effective decisions among broadly variable conditions.
o Effective coach and team builder with demonstrated problem solving ability.
o Effective collaboration and facilitation skills.
o Competency in Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word and PowerPoint) and databases required.
o Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
o Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
Base Salary range: $110,614.40 - $148,470.40 per year
This salary range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the salary range and hiring at the maximum of the salary range is not typical.
