      General Summary:

      This is a hybrid opportunity, defined as a work environment that combines remote work and in-office work. This allows employees to have the flexibility to work from both home and the office, striking a balance that suits individual preferences and job responsibilities. This promotes collaboration, work-life balance, and diversity of thought. 2 in-office days per week can be at either our Portland, ME, Chattanooga, TN, Columbia, SC, or Atlanta, GA locations.

      The Director of Partner Integration Management will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Unum's partnership integration strategies. This role requires a leader who possesses exceptional strategic management skills, and is adept at fostering collaboration across diverse teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in employee benefit sales, both at the retail and wholesale levels, and a proven track record in managing people and driving results.

      Your focus will be on data exchange strategy, solutions and service process and opportunities. This role requires operational management expertise, and a deep understanding of the digital customer experience, service roles and business process. The individual in this role is expected to lead strategically and implement change tactically and broadly.

      Job Specifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred

      • A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in the group insurance or similar industry preferred; added plus knowledge of the insurance marketplace and emerging trends Experience in employee benefit sales both at the retail level and or wholesale level preferred

      • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal departments to oversee partnership operational connections

      • Passion for enabling highly effective management and leadership processes and driving organizational change

      • Ability to influence mid-level to senior management through personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of presentations

      • Excellent written and oral communication skills – both in presentation style with large groups and informally with smaller groups

      • Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically.

      • Drive, self-motivation, a consultative nature and be a great problem solver.

      • Ability to work with a diverse range of people,

      • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration

      • Proven ability to deliver business results by driving operational change

      • Strong understanding of the business and sales via multi-functional experience

      Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Interact and develop strong relationships with internal business areas as well as external partners to accomplish the goals of the area and support assigned area initiatives. Leverage partnerships to find digital resolutions and make it easy for customers to do business with Unum.

      • Establish strong, effective, and collaborative partnerships with key business area leaders, Sales teams, and subject matter experts to identify specific business opportunities or to address business needs or problems and help build effective solutions.

      • Lead and deliver strategic and transformational change to drive operational efficiency and support growth through sales and persistency improvements.

      • Collaborate with Change and Digital Transformation Office (DTO) to map existing and future processes and document platform, partner, and customer-specific approaches.

      • Support development of Platform Management strategy and related strategic priorities by identifying and evaluating complex business issues with a focus on building relevant diagnostic information, generating strategic insights, and putting forward recommended actions to address.

      • Assist with leading strategy sessions designed to identify, develop, and deploy capabilities that drive sales growth and move the relationship from a partnership to an alliance.

      • In collaboration with colleagues in Partner Management, track, and report on the operational performance of technology partners (e.g., service levels, data quality, responsiveness, system limitations), identifying areas of concern, developing correction strategies, and negotiating shared actions to drive improvement.

      • Motivate, coach, establish goals, and provide performance management to a team of Partner Solutions Managers to ensure excellent and effective customer service to our Strategic and Growth Partners.

      • Ensure frictionless and successful integration of Unum's technology, including adoption of the LDEx standards, with third-party partners.

      • Drive activities and cost benefit analysis to guide Sales partners towards profitable sales growth and results and provide ongoing updates to Sr Leadership Team.

      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

      $89,900.00-$161,800.00

      Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
