What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage a caseload of disability claims for Short Term and Long Term Disability
- Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to assess eligibility and benefit authorization
- Apply contractual provisions and case management resources to ensure accurate eligibility and liability decisions
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering timely benefit determinations and responding to inquiries
- Verify ongoing disability and collaborate with specialized resources to discuss return-to-work opportunities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
- Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of ERISA regulations and the ability to analyze information for decision-making
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in TPA or self-administration services
- Aptitude for learning medical terminology and understanding related procedures and regulations
- Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and web-based systems
- Strong problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders
