      Peet’s Coffee has experienced breakthrough sales growth over the last few years. We are looking for Inspirational Team Managers to lead a line /area/ department in achieving breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Equipment Efficiency, Cost, Productivity, Service, and Morale. This will be instrumental in achieving the next S-Curve in business growth.

      What You Will Do:

      Own all Safety, Quality, Production, Cost, Service, and Cost Metrics for your area

      • Set stretching goals for your team to achieve that are linked to the Corporate Goals

      • Develop a plan with your team to deliver these goals

      • Ensure that everyone on your team has a work plan that is linked to these goals

      • Hold your team accountable to delivering these action plans and goals (leverage the Monthly Plan-Do-Check-Act Process)

      • Ensure consistent application of disciplinary action / reward systems in your area

      • Be visible on the floor and ensure that you understand how work gets done in your area

      • Formally meet with each of your employees at least 1/mo

      • Resolve conflicts on your team with urgency

      • Build a highly effective team

      Solve Problems / Eliminate Losses

      • Be a servant leader to your team. Listen to / take action against the barriers that are making their work difficult

      • Leverage the loss analysis process and quarterly loss elimination cycles to eliminate difficult work for your team

      • Develop capability on your team to develop Standard Work and solve problems using the Problem-Solving process

      • Lead the department monthly Plan-Do-Check-Act process for your line/area/dept

      • Ensure that your team is documenting problem statements correctly and work with the Process Engineer to help get to root cause for your top losses

      • Analyze data by leveraging Line Event Data Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, Power BI, Excel, etc.

      Implement Systems to prevent problem re-occurrence

      • Implement daily management systems like safety behavior observation, quality inspection system, centerline system, changeover system, defect handling system, productivity management systems that eliminate losses. These systems will prevent fire-fighting and will introduce stability.

      • Own a system to deliver results improvement. Monitor system KPI’s to ensure output of the system is achieved. Analyze system performance and take action to get to root cause when the system results are off track

      Build Capability

      • Ensure that your team is staffed to deliver the expected results

      • Ensure that your team has the right skills to deliver the expected results

      • Spend time personally developing the skills of yourself and your team

      • Implement a vision of self-sufficient teams and develop the subsequent capability to deliver this vision

      • Identify and groom the next generation of leaders on your team

      • Ensure that there is a clear career path to keep people energized and excited about their job

      Who You Are:

      • Have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering and logistics or supply chain management

      • Be an inspirational leader, with demonstrated experience in leading teams to achieve excellent results

      • Have practical experience in manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, or supply chain (preferably as a Process Engineer.)

      • Have a knack for data-based problem-solving

      • Enjoy working in a team-environment and building great relationships with their coworkers.

      • Skilled at conflict resolution and holding people accountable

      • Be able to work quickly, embrace and learn new information, multi-task and incorporate feedback into personal performance

      • Is able to communicate effectively via email, conference calls, presentations, etc.

      The target annual base salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
