- Provide strategic and operational support to the Chief Executive, the executive team and the Board;
- Lead the nursing and midwifery professions across the district, ensuring the highest professional standards are achieved;
- Provide professional leadership and direction of nursing and midwifery clinical standards and governance by ensuring accountability for clinical practice and safety requirements through appropriate nursing and midwifery staffing and evidence-based standards of practice;
- Foster an organisational culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration and oversee workforce planning and people management strategies which attract, recruit, develop and retain the highest quality staff;
- Work with established academic and research partners to create a learning and research environment which incorporating strategies that build a positive team culture, foster leadership and management development, and provide learning and career development opportunities for staff;
- Ensure financial responsibility and accountability within the nursing and midwifery portfolio and develop strategies that ensure budgetary targets and KPIs are met or exceeded;
- Work closely with the CCLHD executive leadership team, NSW Ministry of Health, other LHDs, Aboriginal and community groups, local government and a diverse range of other stakeholders;
- Ensure that all activities across the organisation are aligned to the values of NSW Health.
- Describe a recent significant and innovative reform or initiative which you led across your nursing and midwifery teams which both elevated performance and enhanced culture?
- What was innovative about this and what were your 3 key learnings.
- Current Registration as Registered Nurse Division 1 or Registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 and Registered Midwife with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or demonstrated extensive proven experience at a senior management level in a substantial and complex organisation engaged in clinical service delivery.

Role Outline
Located between Sydney and the Hunter Valley, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) provides a diverse range of health services to the communities of this picturesque and popular coastal area. The region is served by two acute hospitals – Gosford and Wyong. Woy Woy Hospital and Long Jetty Healthcare Centre provide sub-acute care along with eight community health centres and other community-based services. CCLHD is a thriving health service which is developing rapidly to meet the evolving needs of the population. It partners with a range of academic, research and community stakeholders to ensure world class health services are delivered in the most effective way to the communities served. CCLHD operates to a budget of c$1bn and is led by the Chief Executive. Following internal changes, CCLHD are now seeking appoint a new District Director, Nursing and Midwifery.

About you
We are seeking an experienced clinical leader with a track record of success across a significant scale hospital network or health service. You may currently hold a DONM / EDONM or equivalent role; we equally value applications from clinical leaders with experience across complex health systems who are looking to step up to their first district wide leadership role. You will demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplined organisational landscape and inspire and energise your teams to set new standards in patient care. You’ll possess strong strategic skills and be passionate about healthcare and its impact on the community. Critical to your success will be your strong communication and engagement skills and your passion for shaping and elevating the nursing and midwifery professions.

This is an ongoing full time, Band 1, Health Service senior executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $217,997 to $242,100 per annum (SOORT 2023), will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
