What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise an inspection team of up to 20 staff members inspecting construction activities within the public Right-of-Way (ROW)
- Direct daily operations of inspection staff, including project assignment and technical guidance
- Resolve inspection and construction coordination challenges as they arise
- Collaborate with contractors and developers to minimize construction impacts in the ROW
- Ensure compliance with City Standards through effective coordination with other City departments and SDOT divisions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of five (5) years of civil engineering experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience
- An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or two (2) years of relevant college coursework
- Current Washington State driver's license or equivalent mobility
- Proficiency in reading construction plans and interpreting applicable codes and regulations
- Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills

- Effective oral and written communication skills, especially in a multi-cultural environment

- Ability to work independently while keeping supervisors informed of progress and issues
