What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform and evaluate Human DNA Identity assays and quality assurance tests
- Conduct DNA/RNA extraction, Standard and Real-Time PCR, multiplex amplification, and genotyping
- Analyze DNA test results using statistical methods
- Provide expert testimony in depositions and courtroom settings
- Maintain strict adherence to protocols regarding evidence custody and testing procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, Genetics, or a related science
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in molecular biology procedures
- Comprehensive knowledge of forensic theory, procedures, techniques, and instrumentation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific field
- 3 years of experience in molecular biology procedures
- Coursework or training in forensic analysis, statistics, and/or population genetics
- Ability to work collaboratively as an active team member
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook
