      Job summary

      Domestic assistants support the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for patients, service users and staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic domestic to join our facilities team.

      You will be required to work as part of a team and be flexible within your working approach, working flexible shift patterns, and cross sites within our building portfolio. Previous experience in an NHS environment would be advantageous, if not training will be provided.

      Main duties of the job

      An opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated team of facilities staff within UCLH.

      You will be required to carry out general cleaning duties within the wards, departments and buildings across our portfolio, ensuring compliance with national standards, Health & Safety, and control of infection.

      Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage although full training will be given. The ability to work on your own and as part of a team is essential.

      You will be required to use chemicals and handle cleaning equipment responsibly, and within health and safety guidelines.

      You will be responsible for maintaining patient, staff and public safety through appropriate use of warning signage whilst cleaning.

      You will need to have a friendly and helpful manner and have a sensitive approach when dealing with patients and their families.

      Uniform and PPE will be supplied.
