      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Conduct assessments, interviews, and case management for clients facing barriers to self-sufficiency
      - Develop and authorize casework plans while coordinating referrals to internal and community resources
      - Maintain accurate case documentation and conduct periodic reviews to assess client progress
      - Authorize medical referrals and ensure compliance with state requirements
      - Participate in required trainings, meetings, and general staff support activities

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Twelve months as a Social Service Specialist 1, plus completion of the agency's training program
      - A Master's degree in social services or a related field, with one year of relevant experience
      - A Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field, with two years of relevant experience
      - Equivalent education and experience totaling six or more years may be considered
      - Must complete formal training within one year of appointment

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Knowledge of adult and family services, including child development and safety indicators
      - Skills in interviewing and engaging with clients in challenging situations
      - Ability to efficiently manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining documentation
      - Familiarity with medical terminology and community-based resources
      - Experience using automated systems and technology for case management
