What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct crisis screenings and assess eligibility for shelter entry for callers seeking assistance
- Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, advocacy, and safety planning to callers
- Document all calls accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Collaborate with community agencies to provide comprehensive services for callers
- Attend virtual supervision and training sessions, maintaining regular communication with the Hotline Program Manager
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a resident of Northern Virginia (NOVA)
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, or human trafficking
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including active listening
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace for conducting calls
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with clients who have suffered trauma, particularly in domestic violence or child abuse contexts
- Background in a call center handling crisis situations
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles
- Experience working with diverse populations
