What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Emergency Department Resource Nurse
- Assist patients with undressing and securing personal belongings to ensure safety
- Conduct patient safety checks every 15 minutes and monitor for potentially unsafe behaviors
- Notify nursing staff of any changes in patient condition or behavior
- Document patient behavior and maintain accurate records for continuity of care
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must complete de-escalation training and hold a current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact in English
- Ability to remain calm in stressful or emergency situations
- Capability to assist in the physical restraint of disturbed patients
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in patient care, mental health, teaching, child care, or public safety
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and patient safety protocols
