Job Description

- Oversee injury reporting along with timely follow up. Analyze continuous improvement opportunities
- Identify safety training needs and trends based on monthly safety reports and create corrective action plans
- Write and review company safety policies
- Review OSHA compliance standards and implement company policies and training
- Write company safety training programs in partnership with company training team
- Responsible for company emergency preparedness/response plan
- Manages company safety suggestions and STOP observations
- Main point of contact for safety related incidents
- On-call for emergency medical situations as main point of communication
- Write company JSAs
- Support MSDS program.
- Report out on Safety KPI’s on effectiveness. Provide monthly reporting on OSHA metrics.
- Oversee company COVID plan and protocol
- Work closely with Human Resources department and In-House Legal Counsel to ensure company is following most current recommendations and requirements
- Report COVID cases to OSHA as required
- Partners with third party workers compensation company to ensure proper paperwork is submitted, tracking of hours, and reporting for claims such as OSHA logs, DART, etc.
- Coordinate injury reporting and related documentation
- Leads company safety committees
- Partner with NLPT to oversee workplace injuries
- Attend regular meetings with NLPT to review employee incidents and injuries
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years’ related experience required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform complex tasks independently.
- Lead projects and teams of other employees as needed
- May have some impact on departmental budgeting and strategic planning
- Leadership skills
- Ability to foster teamwork
- Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
