- Lead and embed a proactive safety culture across the organization.
- Develop, implement, and sustain an effective Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Program.
- Facilitate safety leadership development among front-line leaders and employees.
- Create and lead cross-functional safety committees and drive active employee engagement.
- Establish and track leading and lagging safety performance indicators.
- Recognize and celebrate contributions to safety improvements.
- Represent EHS in the Site Leadership Team and actively contribute to site strategy and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Maintain all required documentation and programs under OSHA and local standards.
- Oversee implementation and recertification of ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 standards.
- Support ISO-9001 requirements related to safety and risk management.
- Lead site readiness and response for internal and external audits.
- Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), ergonomic evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement programs for accident prevention and emergency response.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage chemical safety programs, including SDS and hazard communication.
- Collaborate with HR and medical providers to coordinate and continuously improve occupational health programs.
- Monitor and address health risks (e.g. fatigue, noise, chemical exposure).
- Drive cross-functional EHS initiatives and continuous improvement actions.
- Lead site-wide safety training and onboarding programs.
- Deliver or coordinate job-specific training and ensure ongoing competency.
- Promote safety ownership and awareness at all organizational levels.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability goals.
- Lead waste reduction and resource optimization programs.
- Drive initiatives to reduce environmental footprint and support energy conservation.
- Support the development, maintenance, and testing of the site’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in collaboration with other functions, ensuring that EHS risks and emergency scenarios are fully integrated.
- Lead site-level emergency preparedness, including evacuation drills, emergency response plans, and readiness assessments.
- Serve as a key member of the crisis management team, ensuring alignment with corporate BCP and EHS strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Strong track record in implementing and sustaining Behavior-Based Safety Programs.
- Demonstrated success in ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 environments.
- Experience in a unionized workplace is preferred.
- Industry certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.) preferred.
- Proven change agent and safety culture leader.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
- Influential communicator with ability to engage all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in risk assessment, training delivery, and audit preparation.
- Familiarity with Business Continuity Planning and emergency response coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Frequent presence in manufacturing areas (up to 70% of the time).
- Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds and regular use of PPE.
- Requires flexibility to work extended hours based on operational needs.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The EHS Manager is a strategic, experienced leader and core member of the Site Leadership Team. This role acts as a change agent and champion of a strong safety culture while leading the implementation and continuous improvement of a comprehensive Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Program. The EHS Manager ensures full site compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations and drives engagement at all levels to proactively reduce risk and foster a safe, inclusive, and sustainable work environment.
This position holds site-level responsibility for ISO-14001 (Environmental), ISO-45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), and supports ISO-9001 (Quality) requirements. The EHS Manager builds accountability and safety leadership across all levels of the organization. The EHS Manager also contributes to site resilience by supporting Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and leading emergency preparedness activities aligned with the company’s EHS strategy.
