      About us

At Dyson we are encouraged to think differently, challenge convention and be unafraid to make mistakes. We’re creative, collaborative, practical and enthusiastic. But most of all we’re hugely passionate about what we do.

Dyson offers a unique opportunity for talented individuals to invent, design and develop market leading products for the global market. By working in our world-class research, design and development (RDD) department, these individuals have the opportunity to work alongside leading technical specialists and highly motivated creative people to create products which fulfil our ambition of being truly different and better than our competitors. Our Electronics Project Management function is responsible for managing delivery of increasingly complex electronics systems into an expanding product portfolio.

We're committed to our campus culture and don’t look to offer a regular hybrid working arrangement. This helps us to achieve the spirit of Dyson – collaboration, creativity, and inventiveness – in our inspiring, social, and dynamic workspaces.

      About the role

As an Electronics Programme Manager at Dyson, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the end-to-end delivery of hardware, software, and application/cloud solutions integrated into Dyson products. To excel in this role, you should possess a combination of program management expertise and a strong technical background, as well as demonstrate effective leadership skills. Your scope of work will encompass both global engineering management and senior-level communication.

Your key responsibilities include managing the delivery of electronics hardware and software within projects, utilizing the appropriate systems and processes from concept to end-of-life. This entails identifying, mitigating project risks, assigning responsibilities within the project team, and, if necessary, coordinating the Program Management of a Core Category. You will also be responsible for coordinating project scopes, identifying dependencies, and understanding the critical path to ensure timely project completion. Managing resources and resolving schedule conflicts across the program falls under your purview, and you will escalate issues impacting the portfolio.

As a leader, you will guide engineering teams through project execution, regularly report progress, and represent projects at various reviews. Collaborating with engineering management, you will create resource plans to allocate project resources effectively. It's crucial to identify, manage, or escalate any issues that hinder electronics delivery commitments and take ownership of deviations from the agreed plan, driving them to resolution.

In addition, you'll define, assess, and track the impact of change requests, ensuring stakeholders understand the resulting implications. Monitoring and reporting on project status and data from cost, time, and specification perspectives is essential. You'll also be responsible for managing stakeholders, resolving conflicts, and inspiring teams. Acting as the primary contact for the project/programme within Electronics and the broader Dyson organization is part of your role.

Furthermore, you are expected to proactively identify and drive improvement opportunities in both engineering and project management processes. While you will work independently with minimal guidance, there may be potential for some people management responsibilities as well.
