If so, the Employ & Empower Program Coordinator may be a fit for you! The position reports to the Citywide Internship and Volunteer Program Manager in the Human Resources Department and oversees the City's industry-leading Employ & Empower internship program. It supports the development and execution of a comprehensive, youth internship program offering paid Citywide internship opportunities.

      Key Areas of Responsibility:
      • Ensure the Employ & Empower internship program is delivering on its commitment to develop a thriving, skilled, and educated workforce capable of tackling the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow, by providing a clear, unified pathway for career growth, learning, and development today.
      • Manage internal and State reporting and compliance for $9.25M annual program budget and deliverables.
      • Collaborate with City Departments to increase internship opportunities and build pathways to permanent City employment.
      • Maintain and grow partnerships with local high schools, community colleges, and universities to develop and deploy Career Technical Education pathways.
      • Engage community-based organizations to promote City internship opportunities and resources.
      • Develop program improvements to ensure interns and department intern supervisors have an exceptional experience.
      • Facilitate marketing efforts and attend recruiting and promotion events.
      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree (e.g., Business Administration, Education, Public Administration); and
      • Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible program management and development experience.
      • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates these qualifications may be qualifying.

      • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize for maximum effectiveness, explore many creative options, and use sound judgment in planning.
      • Excellent writing and communication skills.
      • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze metrics and use insights to inform program improvements.

      The Department:
      The mission of the Human Resources Department is to position the City as the regional employer of choice through best-in-class recruitment, retention, and employee relations practices. The Department is comprised of the following programs: Human Resources, Labor Relations, People and Organization Development, Reasonable Accommodations, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Talent Acquisition, Citywide Volunteer, Internship, and Work Readiness, COVID Response and Recovery, People Analytics, Employee Engagement, and Veteran Affairs.
