Job summary
Guy's and St Thomas' is among the UK's busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.
The Endoscopy unit is open 7 days a week and provides scopes for 6 procedure rooms cross site and additional off unit procedures
The successful candidate will oversee the day to day production, issue and distribution of endoscopes for clinical use. In particular supporting the team leader and decontamination technicians . They will also be responsible for endoscopy equipment.
Main duties of the job
Liaising with external companies and ensuring preventative maintenance and service contracts are up to date.
Liaising with nursing staff and escalating any problems appropriately.
Keeping up to date records of medical equipment and ensuring a rolling replacement schedule is in place. Raising capital bids in line with service requirements with agreement from medical leads.
Ensures that all policies and guidelines are followed.
Participate in audit when required.
Participate in and organise staff training.
Perform PDRs for direct reports.
Ensure off duty completed in a fair and timely manner.
