- 3 years post registration experience of which 2yrs will have been as a Band 6 in the Endoscopy Unit
- Deputy ward sister/charge nurse experience within the last 12 months.
- Participation in Jag accreditation

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available in Endoscopy for a Senior Sister/Unit Manager to lead our new Clinical Diagnostic Centre based in Hanley.
The unit manager collaborates to ensure the delivery of effective patient focussed service. This includes strategically managing and developing an evolving and developing services in accordance with standards and indicators as outlined by relevant bodies such as JAG, NHS England and is equivalents in the devolved nations, and the CQC and equivalents.
As Unit Manager, you will lead the nursing team in the delivery of a safe, efficient, and patient focused service, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients and staff. You will support quality and governance initiatives and ensure compliance with the audit programme. You will be responsible for the team quality improvement plan and leading the team with continuous quality improvement, ensuring compliance with the team statutory and mandatory training programme, lead effective appraisals and will need to provide leadership and mentoring, and will act as a positive role model for junior staff in a manner that positively reflects the values of the organisation. You will be responsible for managing, directing and leading the nursing team with inclusivity, compassion, and commitment.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as a Senior Sister/charge Nurse within an established Multi-disciplinary team delivering, monitoring and evaluating current care, whilst participating in the development of new ways of working and practices both clinical and administrative to enhance the excellent service we currently provide.The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills and be enthusiastic, flexible and committed to the provision of excellent standards of care, a good communicator, and motivated to build on existing professional development.
