- Manages and consults with site personnel on site energy audit programs.
- Supports the prioritization and selection of energy improvement ideas to be implemented as part of the ESG program
- Develops best practices for the site in terms of energy management and energy saving, including the review of benchmarks and consulting with external engineering groups and peers
- Generates and provides energy usage and savings data to corporate ESG program management.
- Technical review and financials generation for each site’s energy savings projects concept list.
- Consults with site personnel on energy related capital projects.
- Develop energy cost savings calculations for site capital projects.
- Corporate interface to utility providers
- Technical subject matter expert on utilities equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, air compressors, water, fire protection, nitrogen systems, electrical power supply and distribution. Provide technical consulting in these areas to site level capital projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be capable of applying a broad range of related disciplines to energy related cost savings programs and capital projects.
- Must be capable of complex utility system analysis, including energy audit, in areas such as usage rates, diversity factors, and cost savings potential.
- Ability to provide technical consulting to capital project teams.
- Experience supervising and guiding the work of external engineering consultants.
- Should have a working knowledge of applicable codes, permitting process, and/or standards.
- Capable of investigating government related energy savings funding programs.
- Certified Energy Manager is preferred but not required.
- LEED certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficient w/ MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Project, and Word), Microsoft Teams, and Webex.
- Must be proficient in both written and oral communication skills, especially presentations.

SUMMARY OF POSITION :
This position is responbible for the administration of Mallinckrodt Specialty Generics Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives related to energy management, energy efficiency project identification, and energy project prioritization at its manufacturing locations. The company’s ESG program is currently in its launch phase and this position will be part of the team that is creating the strategy related to decarbonization and energy management. This position working with all Specialty Generics site engineering, utility groups, and leadership will conduct/manage energy audits, support the prioritization and selection of energy improvement ideas, develop capital project scopes of work and financials, and coordinate energy usage reporting to ESG program executive management. Providing subject matter expert consulting on energy related capital projects is also expected, this consulting may extend in a few instances to the Specialty Brands sites.
Essential Functions:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or other technical field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 -10 years of energy program experience. Familiarity with API (active pharmaceutical ingredient), chemical plant, and oral solid dosage facilities a plus. Project management experience is also a plus.

OPERATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: High degree of collaboration required on a regular on-going basis. Must be able to establish effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external personnel including engineers, operating and maintenance personnel, site and corporate leadership personnel, consultants, constructors, utility providers, and equipment suppliers.
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Energy Manager supports Corporate Engineering. Corporate Engineering is charged with successful Capital planning, forecasting, and implementation of capital projects with a $40M to $50MM typical Budget/year, and is lead by the VP of Operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Most work will be performed in an office setting. Outdoor field work in manufacturing plant and construction site settings is required. Travel to project sites, design firms, or equipment vendors up to 25% of time may be required depending on project assignments and specific phases of projects.
