What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Maintain up-to-date information and research on power & energy markets, including competitive intelligence and environmental regulations
- Analyze data and present actionable insights to improve business outcomes and support growth strategy initiatives
- Lead modeling projects and apply data mining to aggregate and disseminate insights around power & energy markets
- Research market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for sales and services
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and support product improvement initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S/B.A.) in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Economics; MBA/MS preferred
- 5-7 years related experience; experience in the power-utilities/energy industry is essential
- Strong analytical background with the ability to conduct market trend research
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Tableau is highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to C-suite executives
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with optimization tools such as MATLAB, GE-MAPS, PROMOD, PLEXOS, or AURORA
- Familiarity with statistical analysis programs (e.g., Stata and R), Tableau, SQL, and financial databases
- Previous experience in a consulting or professional environment supporting clients
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for learning and developing new skills
