      The Opportunity:

      Job Summary

      The BI Engineer II role will focus on developing and maintaining Power BI reports, automating workflows using Azure and Power Platform tools, and supporting Power BI enterprise governance and compliance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a solid understanding of reporting best practices, automation, and platform stewardship in a federated BI environment.

      This role partners closely with business stakeholders, platform teams, and governance groups to deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable BI solutions.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports with complex data models to meet business requirements
      • Leverage Power Automate to design and deploy automation solutions for routine business tasks and data workflows
      • Utilize SQL, DAX, M, and Python to manipulate, analyze, and validate large and complex datasets
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting solutions align with Power BI best practices and governance standards
      • Design, develop, and maintain YAML-based code stored in Azure DevOps Repos to support automation and data workflows
      • Build and schedule Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to execute Power BI archival, audit, and compliance processes
      • Support Power BI enterprise governance and administration, including:
        • Enforcing owner governance standards across workspaces and reports
        • Defining and performing audit processes for report, workspace, and semantic model usage
        • Publishing Power BI reports and apps on behalf of federated teams in accordance with governance standards
        • Owning workspace, app, and semantic model compliance, including metadata, security, and certification requirements
      • Partner with BI, platform, and governance stakeholders to identify unused or non-compliant Power BI assets
      • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure Data Factory pipelines and scheduled governance workflows
      • Maintain documentation and operational runbooks related to Power BI governance and automation
      • Follow DevOps best practices, including version control, code reviews, and environment-based deployments

      Qualifications

      • 3+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or Data Engineering
      • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including report development, data modeling, and workspace management
      • Working knowledge of SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M); experience with Python for data processing or automation
      • Experience building automation using Power Automate
      • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, including Repos and YAML-based code management
      • Experience working with Azure Data Factory, including pipeline development, scheduling, and monitoring
      • Demonstrated experience with Power BI enterprise governance, compliance, or administrative processes
      • Understanding of BI best practices related to security, performance, and lifecycle management
      • Experience using Git-based version control and participating in code reviews
      • Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with technical and non-technical partners

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in a federated or enterprise-scale Power BI environment
      • Exposure to Power BI REST APIs, service principals, or tenant-level administration
      • Familiarity with data governance, audit, or compliance programs
      • Azure or Power Platform certifications
      • This position pays between $84,000-126,000 based on experience
