What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide designated English Language Development (ELD) instruction and intervention to active English language learner students
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers to effectively support students in their learning
- Administer the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) and utilize results to guide instruction
- Proctor state testing as required for compliance with educational standards
- Teach online using the Engageli platform, delivering both synchronous and asynchronous instruction
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must hold a valid California Teaching Credential and California English Learner Authorization at the time of application
- Must reside in California
- Required to administer ELPAC assessments and track language proficiency progress
- Willingness to be assigned to an elementary, middle, or high school grade span
- Applications must meet all requirements at the time of submission to be considered
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience teaching English language learners in an online or virtual environment
- Familiarity with the K12, inc. curriculum or similar educational frameworks
- Strong collaboration skills for working with fellow educators and staff
- Previous experience in proctoring state assessments
- Passion for innovative educational practices and technology integration
