      • Other Enterprise Strategy Initiatives (including special assignments from the C-Suite and Board of Directors)

      What You’ll Bring
      Our Enterprise Strategy Managers leads internal strategy consulting projects and teams to provide actionable, strategic recommendations based on detailed research and analysis to support executives in driving long-term, profitable growth. This position will demonstrate knowledge of various problem-solving techniques, including hypothesis-driven problem solving, integration and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data, clear written and verbal communication, and an ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Develop high-quality strategic options and recommendations for topics critical to enterprise strategy and growth
      • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from internal Caterpillar businesses, third party sources, and external expert interviews to derive insightful conclusions that maximize business impact and support strategic decision making
      • Present findings and insights to key company leaders to inform and influence Caterpillar’s future direction
      • Voice and challenge strategic concerns constructively when necessary

      Skills Needed for Success in this Role

      • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering; 5-8 years of total professional experience in functions like corporate strategy, consulting, finance, operations, engineering management, data analytics, research, or decision sciences
      • Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.
      • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
      • Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
      • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
      • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
      • Visioning: Understanding of the value of articulating an intended business outcome and ability to create and communicates a vision of the organization that motivates others to superior performance.
      • Stakeholder Management: Knowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them.
      • Consulting Process & Tools: Knowledge of consulting process; ability to engage in planning sales, conducting research and analysis, finding solutions and preparing recommendations.

      Top Candidates will have

      • MBA or master’s degree from a top-tier program
      • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
      • Experience in a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank or corporate strategy group of a high-performing corporation
      • Professional experience in industrials, heavy equipment, automotive, or similar industries

      Additional Details

      • This is a full-time position with a start date as soon as reasonable
      • This position is based out of the Irving, TX Caterpillar Global HQ
      • Relocation is available for qualifying U.S. based candidates
      • The position may travel as needed both domestically and internationally (will vary by project)
