      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Act as a working lead by distributing, prioritizing, assigning, and reviewing unit work
      - Conduct specialized planning, research, and environmental studies to develop recommended actions and programs
      - Review and analyze proposed legislation or projects for consistency with policies, plans, and statutes
      - Prepare reports, correspondence, and educational materials related to environmental protection
      - Serve as the department representative on various regulatory and advisory boards and committees

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Seven (7) years of experience involving technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data or planning and implementing environmental programs
      - Considerable knowledge of principles and practices in fields relative to environmental protection
      - Ability to understand and interpret legislation and technical data
      - Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
      - Supervisory ability and experience in leading projects

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience evaluating and interpreting solid and hazardous waste facility permits and technical reports
      - Experience concurrently managing multiple environmental projects while meeting deadlines
      - Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and Connecticut laws relating to solid and hazardous waste management
      - Experience developing technical documents for the protection of human health and the environment
      - Familiarity with coordinating with various stakeholders regarding solid or hazardous waste management
