      Position Summary

      The Equine Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the horse stables or equestrian facilities. Their primary focus is to ensure the well-being, health, and proper care of the horses while diligently managing team members in this effort.

      Core Responsibilities

      • Responsible for the overall health and well-being of the horses on the farm to include overseeing feeding schedules, monitoring the horses' health, administering medications or treatments as necessary, coordinating with veterinarians for regular check-ups, vaccinations, and addressing any health issues promptly.
      • Supervise and coordinate team member’s work to include assigning tasks, training new staff, and monitoring performance to ensure efficient and effective operation of the farm.
      • Oversee the breeding program to include breeding schedules, coordinating with veterinarians for reproductive services, overseeing foaling, and caring for young horses.
      • Ensure customer satisfaction and for all clients, such as horse owners and trainers.
      • Maintains accurate records related to horse health, breeding, training, and financial transactions.
      • Ensures that the farm complies with safety regulations and industry standards to include implementing and enforce safety protocols for both horses and team members. Additionally, stay current with local regulations related to equine management and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.

      Minimum Qualifications

      The requirements listed below are the minimum degrees, certifications, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position.

      • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
      • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent preferred
      • At least 6 years farm experience, horse breeding or related field preferred
      • Valid driver’s license

      • Ability to interact professionally with a varied group of individuals including company employees, customers, and outside vendors.
      • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding business matters.
      • Dedication to furthering the successful development of the Farm.
      • Proficient in computer skills using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

      Physical Requirements

      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
      • The physical demands of the job include the use of hands and fingers, reaching, bending, sitting, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and driving.
      • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. with proper assistance.
      • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
      • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and able to drive a vehicle.

      • May be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
